National Seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilient Informal Settlements.
In collaboration with UNICEF, the Environmental Planning department has organized a national seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilient Informal Settlements seminar on 15/12/2023 at SPA Bhopal Campus. This seminar was organized to discuss the pathways for disaster risk reduction in informal settlements. Eminent experts namely: Ms. Margaret Gwada - Chief, M.P. Office -UNICEF; Dr. Darshini Mahadevia, Ahmedabad University; Dr. Anshu Sharma Co-founder of SEEDs, India; Mr. Sarbjit Sahota, DRR Expert UNICEF; Dr. Satya Prakash Mehra, State Coordinator– Rajasthan- TOFI; Ms. Rachana Shah, Mahila Housing Trust, Ahmedabad; Dr. Mona Iyer, Dean, Faculty of Planning, CEPT University; had deliberated in this seminar. Our students of the third-semester Master of Planning (Environmental Planning) have also presented their work on the Gandhi Nagar ward titled 'Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilient Informal Settlements – A Case Study of Slum Settlements of Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal'.
